This role is for a Radiation Therapist providing local float coverage at two clinic sites in Wilmington, NC. The therapist will administer radiation therapy treatments, float between clinic locations as needed, and collaborate with other therapists, physicians, and nurses. The role involves working with various radiation therapy equipment and techniques, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.

Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments according to prescribed plans.
- Float between two clinic sites based on coverage needs.
- Operate Varian linacs, TrueBeam, and Siemens CT simulators.
- Perform chart checks and ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
- Assist with tumor localization and imaging (CBCT/kV/mV).
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patients during treatment and report any adverse reactions.
- Assist with special procedures such as respiratory gating and IMRT.
- Participate in storm team or hurricane team duties as assigned, potentially requiring reporting to work during catastrophic events.
- Document patient care and treatment details accurately.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
- Experience in a clinic setting.
- ARRT (T) certification.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with Adult Outpatient care.
- Knowledge of Tumor Localization and CBCT/kV/mV imaging.
- Experience with External Beam Therapy, IMRT, Tomo Therapy.
- Familiarity with Varis- Vision/ ARIA, ARIA, and TrueBeam systems.
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT (R) certification.
Special Considerations:
- RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
- Call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could result in cancellation.
- Floating between clinic locations is required (Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center Radiation Oncology - 16th St and Novant Health Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology Brunswick).
- Weekend work is rare, only if a machine is down for an extended period.
- Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events.
- Consolidation to a Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with pre-assignment to units as needed.
Scheduling:
- 40 hours per week.
- Staggering 4x10 hour shifts depending on clinic needs.
- One shift option: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch.
- Another shift option: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch.
